Hi Guys,
What I am asking about seems very basic so I searched around quite a lot to find it in the forums, so I will not create excess junk. But I could not so here it is:
I thought it might be usefull to have a USB tunneling server, with an appropriate client, so a PC can use the USB devices connected to the ASUS. An example (my example): I have an HP all-in-one that I want to use. I can print to it OK but obviously nothing else (scan etc). A tunneling USB will allow me to treat the device as local.
Some examples are http://usbip.naist.jp/ (alas, no windows client) or http://www.usb-over-network.com/usb-over-network.html (commercial, windows only).
This will also solve such problems as the HPLJ1020 firmware download (although Oleg already solved this one, but can happen again)
Any thoughts?
