I have the adsl Huawei Aolynk dr814q modem/router and the Asus wl-500g (official firmware 1.9.5.0).
The Aolynk connects to the Asus through lan1 to wan port. I have set the Aolynk ip to 192.168.1.2 (dhcp range 192.168.1.3-.24) so the Asus gets the first available ip (192.168.1.3).
The Asus is the lan gateway 192.168.1.1 and dhcp range is 192.168.1.25-.254. DNS works ok both in manual or automatic. I can access the wl-500g by 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.3.
The problem is after some random amount of time (even when computers are idled) I don’t have internet access anymore. It comes back after some time and there is absolutely nothing in the logs of both devices. First I thought it was the WAN port dieing and I set to 100 full-duplex but it is same and the led is never down.
Internet connection works fine if I connect the computer to the Aolynk.
I have two wireless computers and they never lose connection to the wl-500g, only to internet.
How can I diagnose the problem if it doesn’t show in the logs?
Thanks!
