Am I being dense?!

I must have the Midas touch, I am very sure I followed the manual's instructions

HP PSC 2200 Multifunction printer - Asus Printer setup Wizard utility recognises it but wl500g deluxe seems to delete the driver from my PC right at the end of setup then error message says 'no default printer selected' and the 2200 has disappeared from my printer list & has to be re-installed.

Anyone please got any ideas? I am running the latest firmware from the asus website, think it was 1.9.5.0

How about trying not to use ASUS wizard but to setup the port manually, and assign it to the driver?

thanks. I tried that but the driver still deletes when I connect the pronter to the asus box.

As a related question, does anyone know if Asus takes phone calls?
