No writing possible with Samba demo mode

I have enabled Samba demo mode (1.9.2.7-6b), the windows share works fine, but it's not possible to write to the share.

I'm using a simple USB memory stick (FAT16).

With FTP I can write to the memorystick.

Is this normal behavior, or is this configurable ?

This is normal, connect to hidden folder \\192.168.1.1\$private for writable access.

I think that's the right address.
