Dear all,

I have a Problem to config the WL-500g with one of our local ISPīs in Austria.
i found nothing to solve this problem on the net...

For a working configuration i must get a dynamic IP-Adress from my Provider
(z.b. 172.16.125.137/24, GW: 172.16.125.1)
and connect via PPTP (Host 10.0.0.138)

i have tried it with a other provider (Aonline) that used a fixed ip adress
(10.0.0.140/24) and connect via PPTP (Host 10.0.0.138)
(i wrote the host in the field "Gataway" in the WLAN & LAN config)
it works fine with this configuration, but wrong provider...

can anyone help me to solve this problem?

Thankīs

Martin

rather discuss this via PM, or try to add a translation

afaik the german language and that is below zero, even i can almost read it so won't be so hard to write in english

thank you :)

I have read a Page about the Firmware (http://wl500g.dyndns.org/)

There is a info to write 0.0.0.0 in the IP-Adress field to get
the IP-Adress via DHCP.

This works fine, but i donīt get the gateway and without it i donīt get to my
VPN-Host...

The problem is, i must write the VPN-Host adress in the GATEWAY-Field in the configutation-screen.

is there anyone who knows how to fix it (maybe manual in the Console)?

Thanks and best regards

Martin

IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!

My Settings:
IP: 0.0.0.0
Gateway: 10.0.0.138

then telnet and enter this: "route add 10.0.0.138 eth1"

FINISH!!
But after rebooting router, you must reenter "route add 10.0.0.0138 eth1"

That's only half the way... at evry dhcp renew you loose the connection and you have to correct the routing table. That happens every 11 hours.

I have an slightly modified version of oleg's 1.7.5.9-2 that works for me with the zyxel 645 and the zyxel 650. My rourer is now online for anout 1 day and 20 hours.

If you want to give it a try mail me (alex @ astech dot at).

My Router is up since last posting and I have nothing to renew.

nice work if it works

maybe you can make a simple howto for other inode(or whatever it name is) users

(place it in the HowTo Forum :) )

I'll mail Oleg the patches, after some testing
