Can it dammage the wl-500g Deluxe to use a external power on/off-timer, that turns of the power off for the night and the back on in the morning?

Is it a bad thing to do?

Why should the PowerOff destroy anything?

Another problem is: when I pull out the powercable, parts of my settings were gone.
