Hi,
I own a Asus wl 500g deluxe that I want to use for mp3 and dvd storage.
I want to use my XBOX as media center.
I aim to use Samba to read the files from the XBOX.
I will use FTP to copy the files to the HDD from my PC.
I have used the disk (32 GB FAT32 / 120 GB Ext3) but the read speed (from Asus-HDD to Xbox) is about 1 MByte/sec, while the FTP speed from PC to Asus-HDD is about 10 MByte/sec.
I have toe following questions:
What is the best way to partition the HDD (Using Samba from PC is not required)?
Does the speed from FAT32 differ from Ext3 (or Ext2)?
Does mounting to /opt give better performance (instead of default /tmp/hardisk)?
Please help me?
