Hi,

I've read this on Oleg's web page :

Other changes made to stock 1.7.5.9 firmware

* Support for specifying the static address for the external interface in PPPoE mode. Useful for management of the external ethernet modem."

I undestand this, as the ability to access the ethernet modem connected on the Wan interface of the wl-500gx from any PC on the private Network, using the modem ethernet IP address (10.0.0.138 for my Alcatel 536 one).

But what must be done ?

10.10.10.138 can't be routed, so I won't pass trough the router like that. What kind of route should I add ?

My modem has another address 192.168.1.254, unfortunately the same as the wl-500 but I can change this.

Any help would be welcome so I can access the web interface of my ethernet modem through my great WL-500gx router ;-)

Thanks,

Seb

What happens if you enter 10.0.0.137 und Subnetmask 255.255.255.0 (or 255.0.0.0 ??) in the marked fields? Can you access the modem? I think that's what the mentioned line in the read means.

You're right.

I tought filling these fields will overide the dynamic Ip address from the ISP, not at all !

It gives the address to the Vlan1 inteface and the ppp0 still get the dynamic one.

It was indeed really simple and well done. I should have tried it by myself.

But, the help text that appears on the IP address field says that if field is blank, the address will be retrieved using DHCP. It does not seem to work, my modem has DHCP server enable on his LAN interface (the one where the wl-500gx WAN interface is connected) and the the WL-500g doesn't get any address.
With the IP and netmask field fill in staticaly, it works fine.

Thanks,

Seb
