Intel Wireless 2200BG - no security - no connection

Hi 2 all,
I got WL500g with last 1.9.2.7-6b firmware, I got it in Access Point mode, with this wireless no security setup
SSID: EK20
Channel: 7
Wireless Mode: Auto
54g Protection: Yes
Authentication Method: Open System
With no WEP, no WPA...

I try to connect to WL500g router with my notebook with Centrino and Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG last drivers installed (9.0.3.9) with Intel PROSet tool...

It find my network, it fine detect SSID, type(level) of security, everything looking good...

BUT IT CAN NOT CONNECT - Intel PROSet tool writes only "Unable to connect to EK20"- there is no security, signal level excelent,...
I try to resolve this for month or more :/

Strange, but it works =) (the same with wl500gx and with 9.0.3.0)..

Is possible to draw some conclusions from this?
Is there problem with Intel drivers only? Have I to wait for some new version which will should resove it? Or what can I (We) do?
Could some expert answer that. Thanx a lot...

hi mattez,

i've got exactly the same setting and the same problems (wl500gx!). i'm not able to get a stable wireless connection. i tried the "old" intel 8.0... drivers as well, but still the same problem. i set up the power of the antenna (was 19mW, now 50mW) still the same. i really don't know, what else to do! BUT it is working with the standard Asus FW. i want to use an external hd with samba... no problem in the LAN but not wireless.

did you find a solution? or anybody else? i can't image that we are the only ones with those problems!?

Hmm.. In the past I had a unstable connection, (sony vaio FS215SR notebook), then i installed new drivers, set up Data Rate to 48 Mbps, Radio Power 50, WMM&WMM-NA Enabled. It works!

The problems only when notebook is over-heating, sometimes WL connection falls (When temperature is high - it fails approx. every 30 mins).

Hi guys, I complain that buggy piece of WL-500g (It was unable to connect with any WiFi device - my PDA atc). Thay give me another after some weeks without any explanation.
New piece works fine.

(But now I got another problem - KONICA MINOLTA 2300W over LPT - and just unable to print :p )
