Hi everyone:
My ISP will be upgrading my line to a 16mbit ADSL2 connection in a few weeks. Quick question: will I have any trouble with the wl500gx?

Your modem have to support ADSL2.
Besides there should not be any trouble.

Hi guys, I'm thinking about taking an ADSL2 connection, however, right now I'm on cable :). All works fine. When I check the Wl-500G (Deluxe) specs, it doesn't mention ADSL2. If the modem supports ADSL2, do I need a router with ADSL2 support too?

All you need is a router than can do the speed you want on the WAN port. The ASUS wl500gx for example will provide 20MBit throughput on the WAN port (not an official value, tested it on my own). The worst that could happen is that your router can't use all the speed of your connection. But no, there is no special "ADSL2" support necessary (again, if you have a DSL modem that supports ADSL2).

WL500g Deluxe is tested at 30 Megabite/sec. (WAN Port)
WL-500g is tested at 26-27 Megabit/sec. (WAN Port)

The WL-500G Deluxe has ADSL support, so it should be ok - which is great, i don't want to separate from this lovely router :D.
