hello again,

can someone tell me how to limit the maximum number of connections the WL-500g deluxe tracks and also how to set a timeout for these connections? On the WRT54G I used the following:

echo "600 1800 120 60 120 120 10 60 30 120" > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_conntrack_tcp_timeouts

but ip_conntrack_tcp_timeouts doesent exist on the WL-500g deluxe.

Thanx in advance for help!

I'm using Oleg's 6c-pre5 Firmware, and in the webinterface under "Internet Firewall"->"Basic Config" i have the possibility to set

"Number of connections to track: "

Seems that is what you need, but I don't know if that option exists in other FW versions.

Original firmwares from Asus limits connection to 1024. Recent custom firmwares from Oleg allow you to set this manually. Even more recent custom firmwares have a default limit of 4096 afaik.

Thanx, but I am using both WL-500gx in AP mode.. I am asking because it seems that after using eMule and exiting it the LAN and AIR LED's keep blinking for some hours and then all of a sudden stop. This happens with Oleg's and standard Asus FW.

Work (internet and local LAN) --> WL-500gx in AP mode (cable from switch) -->AIR--> WL-500gx in AP mode-->Home

Could this be caused by the fact that the WL-500gx keeps tracking connections even after I finished using eMule? Funny thing is that there are no packets flowing to my PC when I check the LAN properties but the LAN and AIR led's still blink wildly.
