hi ppl
I was wondering what speeds are ppl getting when transferring between two WL-500gx. With my 1km link I get around 1,5-2,5 MB/s when doing FTP transfers which seems VERY good compared to what I got with 2 LinkSys WRT54G's (only around 1-1,5MB/s, antennas and everything else was the same, using Oleg's latest pre5 FW).
Are there any undocumented parameters (except power boosting,frameburst and speedboster) that could further help? (like nvram set shortslot=1, on the WRT54G..)
And as a long-time WRT54G user, I can clearly say that the Asus Wl-500gx is a far better choice - performance (top wireless 2,5MB/s on 1km!, less fluctuation) , feature (USB ports, built in FTP, WORKING Client mode with WPA PSK+AES...) and stability wise (only one hang so far, LinkSys would require reboots quite often to be responsive(could be due to DD-WRT))
