Short question:

Is there a way to apply settings (such as filter rules or so) without rebooting the router (and so disconnecting all users from inet)? I'm using Oleg's firmware (6c-pre5) , but I'm more a windows guy than a linux guru so I'm not sure wich services/daemons to restart and if that will work at all.

This is not possible with current firmware.

Of course there are a lot of things you can change in a running system without rebooting, but you need telnet for that and the settings will be lost after reboot.

For changing firewall/routing rules on-the-fly you should google 'iptables'

Well I was planning on getting some iptables knowledge anyway ... seems now is a good time. Thx 4 info Oleg/Styno.
