I'm a Newbie, so don't blame for asking stupid questions... ;)
I have a HP Laserjet 4 and would like to connect this printer to the asus wl500g, but it don't seem to work can anyone help me with this...

It was not standing in the list of supported hardware of the asus wl500g, but it is a printer that is used often so i thought, it should be supported...
Well hope to hear from someone soon...

Thanx in advance...

Please be more specific. What exactly does not work? And you did not say anything about firmware version...

Well, sorry for not being specific...
I have the firmversion 1.7.5.6

I installed the Printer and everything seems to be good,
my computer did find the printer and didn't give any errors when i installed it...
The problem is I can't print, when I try to print my computer gives by the little traybar icon of the printer a questionmark and gives the error "error - printing".
I looked up what it means in the microsoft.com database but I read there that it cannot be specified. With other words it can be anything.

I tried to install it on 3 different computers and all three they give me the same error. I also tried to install it as a Networkprinter with the LPR protocol.
But it don't seem much of a difference.

There is nothing wrong with the printer. I have used it for a long time on my computer and had no problems back then at all.

Hope this is a better explanation of the problem and you can help me to solve this. Please tell me if I did something wrong or if you need more info about the problem.

I had the same problem with my Laserjet 6L printer.

Upgraded firmware to 1.7.5.6-2 and Olegs raw printerdriver, and all my printing problems went away.

it's better yes..

ok paste your screenshot (prt scr key>paste in paint>save> attach here) here of your LPR settings

and are you using the original 1.7.5.6 ? or 1.7.5.6CR1 / CR2 or something?

i would advice you to install CR2 > http://wl500g.info/showthread.php?t=249 and follow the screenshot to setup your port for printing

 i'm double posting
