I got a WL-500gx with 2 external IDE HDs connected to USB ports. What are required to enable RAID5 for the setup

Many Thanks.

You cant create a raid 5 only with 2 hdds, you need at least 3 hdds.

Besides the limitation given by britnet, there are many others like the CPU dependancies (resulting in very bad performance) and the boot disk.

I guess you need at least 4 harddisks (1 boot, 3 for minimal RAID-5), you need the boodisk to store all the linux raid tools becuase I think you don't have enough storage space in flash.

A better option seems to be RAID-1 for which you would need at least 2 (most likely 3 harddisks).
