With the Asus firmware it was hold reset button for about 5 seconds = power off ... 20 seconds = reset. Under Oleg's firmware, what is done to shut off the unit? (WL-HDD2.5). If I hold it for 5 seconds it appears to recycle/restart the unit.
Thank you.

The system as supplied by Asus is configured to respond by halt/shutdown to the operation of the button. In Oleg's version, the same event initiates a reboot. I would also like to change this. But a quick search in /etc/ does not reveal a configuration file for the button. So my guess is that one has to recompile the sources in order to change the defaults. From a glance at the patches in http://oleg.wl500g.info/1.9.2.7-6b/wl500g-1.9.2.7-6b.tar.bz2 I would consider gateway/rc/watchdog.c to be a likely candidate for this. But than I'm not shure if it's worth the hazzle of rebuilding the system just for this purpose.

use halt command in the telnet session or wait for the next firmware.
