client mode with wpa - why doesn't work?

i have a dlink g604t with austalian firmware v2 and i want to use wl500g in client mode for two pcs, i am using Firmware v1.9.2.7 CR6b.

i tried like this(found it in this forum)

wl ap 0
wl wet 1
wl scan
wl scanresults
wl join 'SSID' 'key' 'wpa-psk'

i tried to ping inside the router www.google.pt and other sites and it didn't work.

What am i doing wrong?

Use web interface.
Wireless | Advanced > Exteneded Mode - Ethernet Bridge

is it possible that the computers that are conected to asus wl500g can see the other computers conected to the modem/router?
how?
i tried to put dhcp from modem/router from 10.1.1.1 to 10.1.1.7 and dhcp from asus from 10.1.1.10 to 10.1.1.20 and they still can't see each other.
