Dear all,

I found that when I used the WL-500G router, it cannot access some of the sites (e.g. http://www.hotmail.com, http://www.jobsdb.com). I tried switching back without router (using PPPOE in XP). The above sites works. I wonder if there is some URL or access filtering enabled in the WL-500G. (I checked the router's admin page and sure that the firewalls are disabled).

I am using OLEG's 1.7.5.6-2 firmware.

I also tried the following OS and browsers:

XP, ME, IE6, NS7

Helps will be appreciated!!!

PS: I actually tried making a port 80 connection through telnet:
telnet www.jobsdb.com 80 and entered GET /

I can connect to that port, but it gives no response after I typed GET /.

Yes, I can only "sometimes" connect to Hotmail. (It mostly paused in the loginnet.passport.com).

I actually tried with another router and got the same result too. So I suspect its the ISP's problem. But the fact is, when I don't use any router, it can connect to Hotmail and jobsdb without any delay, very strange phenomenon...

Would the ISP block the use of router?

strange, @home in holland makes use of a router difficult in some regions. the router starts acting weird too then.

i don't have a further explanation for it, i'm a happy(?) chello user with no problems :D *ahum* as you are speaking of no problems.. network behind modem platform is malfunctioning since last night 1 o'clock

Actually many people told me its a MTU problem. They told me to lower the router's MTU. However, I found that by changing the MTU value thru the web interface only changes the MTU of the pppoe adapter.

For the WAN and LAN MTU they are all set to 1500 by default. Do I need to change those too?
