Hi,
I am trying to use an ethernet cable to connect a pc to the router, but it doesn't work. Always says acquiring address and then limited connectivity. It worked fine with a crossover cable. Is this a somesort of a requirment to use crossovers or is there some setting to change this...Wireless works ok and the eth card in the pc is configured the same as wireless, only difference is wireless works great and the eth only with crossover.

Thanks

Hi

If you mean that the wiered connection and the wlan connection reside on the same pc, just dont do it. The routerīs dhcp cant give out only one ip per pc, and gets crazy if he sees two paths to the same machine.

Wl500g has auto mdi-x so the chouice of cable is not relevant. it may happen that your card has also auto mdi-x so both ports get confused but this seems not to happen in your case, see above.

I have just tried again with wireless card unplugged and still the same thing. Once it got an IP from dhcp, but the connection was unusable: only half of pings get through and the pages don't load at all, ftp takes like 1 min to connect. Is there a way to fix it, as I cannot only use a wireless connection.
