Interesting seeing new MIPS CPU's running at 1.5GHZ inside a router (1074K), i guess we will see them "soon" inside ASUS routers :-D

Communications Processor with Network Acceleration Hardware

The Broadcom BCM4707/4708/4709 processor is a communications device targeted for applications in switching control and management, and residential router/gateway. The BCM4707/4708/4709 family includes the BCM4707, BCM4708, and BCM4709.

At the center of the device is a high-performance 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 dual-core with a 32 KB four-way set associative instruction cache, a 32 KB four-way set associative data cache, and a 128-entry translation lookaside buffer (TLB). Enhanced CPU memory subsystem architecture provides increased system performance. The device uses state-of-the-art 40 nm technology.

The BCM4908 includes the industry's first 1.8GHz 64Bit quad-core ARM CPU and uses Broadcom's Runner network packet processor to deliver more than 5 Gbps of system data throughput without taxing the CPU. It also supports the increased speeds coming into the home including Google Fiber and Comcast 2 Gbps via an interface for a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet PHY, allowing consumers to enjoy the fastest connection available today.
