speed problems

Tried olegs newest firmware today, have had speedproblems for many versions now.

network -> router -> computer seem to top out at approx 1800kib/s, tried a direct connection without the router and got about 4500kib/s
I tried with some more connections, the speed went up a little bit then the wan-port died.

When the connection died I had downloaded less than 100MB of data.

When I tried setting the wan-port to 100mbit full duplex or 100mbit half duplex the wan light didn't lit and the router said there were no cable connected.

The worst part of this is that the router were fine many many versions back, good speeds and no dead wan port, but after some fiddle with the settings the router died and Oleg helped me back with a special special firmware. Since then it works like this, I believe many others here have the dying wan-port issue, but is your speed low like mine?

That's wired.

Wireless gets about 1200KiB/s using 54mbit where the same computer gets about 2000KiB/s on a Netgear 54mbit, so yes I have speed issues with wlan too, but not as big.

same to me! wireless to wan works fine ( almost ) but wired to wan connection slow down a lot! to such as low as 8kbps

after testing, unfortunatly even wireless to wan slows down a lot, but the wired connections are even slower. Modem's (d-link dsl-300t) ethernet's leds even keep lit for about 10 secs without blinking, then blinking once or twice, and then agin no blink but continuous lit, when I attempt to open any webpage. wlan to to lan and vice versa are the only one connections that seems to be ok.
When I restart de router most of the tries everything comes back to normal... but after aprox 2 days, it comes back to nearly dead again.
I'm able to telnet router.
acessing web interface is a bit slow.
i'm with a pppoe internet conn and modem is set to bridge mode.
Firmware: oleg's latest. 1927-5.

I'm so :( :( :mad: :mad: as I didn't find nobody in this forum who has the same problem but snigel's problem.

I can post here any info that you require to diagnose. every help is SO MUCH appreciated...

well so far nobody said anything...
My setup:

internet -> Modem D-link dsl-300t in bridge mode -> WL-500g 's wan port. 2 wired and 2 wireless clients...

From time to time ( about 2,5 days intervals ) my internet speed drops to very low values ( 10 to 80 kbps ) without any apparent reason.

Everything comes back to normal if I reboot the modem.

I read that this modem has some workarround on it's firewall rules... here:

could it be the problem I'm having, and if positive is there any way of saving changes in the modem? I know that this modem has nothing to do with asus related development here at chupa.nl, but just in case anybody experienced the same problems as I am having right now.
