hi
i m from hong kong
i have some problems on making ftp server
i can get in to my ftp at ftp://192.168.1.2
but i can't get in when using no-ip
i have enable the virual server
and added IP: 192.168.1.2 port: 20:21 in the list..
can anyone help me pls?

2 things:
- No-ip offers you nothing more then DynDNS, so when DynDNS is supported through the webinterface, why not use DynDNS instead?

- You do not need to forward ports or place anything into a DMZ to get the FTP server running. Disable Virtual DMZ, Virtual Server and Port trigger, enable the ftp server and check if port 21 is open using ShieldsUp! (https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2). If it does not show up open, then consult your ISP website to see if they block standard ports like FTP, SMTP or HTTP.

i have disabled Virtual DMZ, Virtual Server and Port trigger..
and the port 21 is open
but still can't connect the FTP server from WAN..

Well, your ftp server is running allright. You only have a to setup the correct usernames and passwords.

Tip: Disable anonymous and superuser logon and manage users through the user interface.

Hi, awl120, I'm from HK too :p

perhaps u could try to ftp to your WAN "ip" address first.

I am using no-ip with my wl-hdd (firmware 1.7.5.9CR5a) running vsftpd, and things are alright (except that i can never find my home server when I'm in PRC, where most DDNS servers are blocked here :confused: , i need to find it with ICQ instead :cool: )

o! my FTP server is working fine...
other ppl can connect my server ftp://test:test@awl120.dyndns.org
but i still can't connect it from my computer=.=

maybe off topic, but for sharing purpose :)

most dynamic ip services aren't working here in the PRC, e.g. my no-ip and dyndns just can't be accessed (lost my home server), trace and ping returned addresses are wrong. and i have tried all the links uppermost in http://www.ez-ipupdate.com/, but just no luck there.
