Hi,

i want to use a SIP phone on my PC with the wl500gx.
when i register my SIP phone to an external proxy, it works, but my contact address is always an internal Address (192.168.x.x) and not the external router address.
So when the SIP proxy send me INVITE messages, is send it to the address 192.168.x.x, and so, i never received it

Somebody can help me, and tell me how i can configure my router to translate internal address in my SIP register to an external address (my router)

Thanks

No, i've not tried this upgrade, but i don't want to make a SIP Proxy, but just join a SIP Proxy, and the pb is :
inside SIP messages, My internal IP address appears !
and i want to have my external IP address in these messages

On a Alcatel Speedtouch routeur, i can Bind some ports and translate SIP messages
Can i make the same procedure with the ASUS wl500gx ?

Thanks

Well...I am not sure how SIP works.

But if SIP always uses the same ports, you can just do a port-forwarding of thoose ports to your SIP Phone, then it should all be good I guess?

Again, I have never tried SIP....

I have considered getting me one of thoose phones, but funds are a bit low at the moment :-/

SIP is a protocol with IP address into TO and FROM tag to route messages.
these tags are right with my config.
The pb is inside SIP messages. They contain other tags (application tags) used by the external Proxy to send me initial messages (incoming calls).
but these other tags contain an Internal address when i register my SIPphone to the proxy (outgoing call). the translation of this internal address to an external address is not made by the asus wl500g (for outgoing calls)

do you know how i can translate all IP address for outgoing calls ?

No, i've not tried this upgrade, but i don't want to make a SIP Proxy, but just join a SIP Proxy,
/* NATIVE LANGUAGE ON */
"Siproxd est aussi un proxy sip, dont l'objectif principal est de permettre à linphone de fonctionner derrière un firewall. Il est relativement facile à mettre en place. "
/* NATIVE LANGUAGE OFF */
=> quoted from http://www.linphone.org/

So maybe you *should* try siproxd.

I am using both Sipura SAP 2000 (www.sipura.com) and the PC porgram X-Lite (www.xten.com), connected via wl500g, and it works great on Oleg's "standard" software.

I know that some gear only works directly connected to the internet IP, e.g. the D-Link DVG-1120S router. My guess is that you need to do some configuration of you SIP gear. Probably you need to enable STUN or type in your internet IP mannually.

OK, - I have done some Virtual Server (port forwarding) configuration of wl500g, but for a start you can do without.

God luck

You need to ask your provider (your company?) for the STUN-server name/IP. Why not try setting up and play with your own private SIP/VoIP account?

Hi,
when i use my private SIP client, the register is correctly send to my company SIP proxy, and i revceive an 200OK, but inside the register message, the CONTACTID tag show an internal IP address !
so the SIP proxy can't send me nex INVITE to make a call
