Gaming Ping

Hello,

i'm using Oleg Firmware 1.9.2.7 CR5.

My Problem:

I play Tactical Orps and the Ping is around 100 ms (no fastpath).
But sometimes the Ping goes up for to 1 second.

I have this problem only with the Asus Router.
I tested a Netgear Router and there the Ping was stable low.

What can i do?

If you are downloading stuff or using P2P programs while you're playing, you should consider using a quality of service provider to keep the ping low.

In earlier firmwares you could only use the Wondershaper script for that, but the firmware you're using now also provides the Bandwith Management webinterface. Set it up for the game and/or P2P app and all should be well.

Note: The maximum transferspeed of all combined policies should be less then the maximum wire speed! Quality of Service providers need some extra room to work properly.
