UPDATE: I got it working. I had to let windows do zeroconf ip configuration and then the ASUS recovery tool worked fine. Woot!!
Hi Everyone,
First post. I have been happily running Tomato on my WL-500-gP for the past couple years but decided to update to Tomato USB but I accidentally downloaded the wrong version and proceeded to flash my router with it. :-( I know stupid, stupid, stupid. I used MIPSv2 instead of MIPSv1, obviously I didn't realize it until it was too late.
So now I can't ping or connect to the router at all. I tried holding the black button for recovery mode and the power light does flash as it is supposed to in this mode but I still can't ping the router at 192.168.1.1, the pc is plugged directly to port 1 with a short cable and static configured with an IP of 192.168.1.10. No response to ping.
Any ideas of what I can do next? I figure I need to be able to ping the router before I can proceed. Also how do i tell if it is a V1 or V2 Premium?
Thanks a bunch!!
Kevin
