WAN always on

Hello!
My WAN-light is always on, even if the cable isnt connected. My modem will not recognize it and transfer any data/internet to my Asus router. Ive tried to upgrade it (newest original firmware), with no differerence. My other router works, so it isnt a faulty modem. Other than the WAN-error, my Asus router works fine.

So has any one got any clue?

Could be a broken wan port...
any recent lightning strikes in your neighborhood?
