I am using a 60GB USB drive and a printer (on the router's USB ports).
The router is running Oleg's firmware.

The problem is that after I use and turn off the printer (I turn it off by pressing the power button :-) ), the router "ejects" my HDD too. Here's system log:

11:18:01 30-06-2010 (info|kern|kernel) usb.c: USB disconnect on device 01:03.2-2 address 4
11:18:01 30-06-2010 (info|kern|kernel) printer.c: usblp0: removed
11:18:02 30-06-2010 (emerg|user|storage) storage: removed

I do not know how to make it work again other than rebooting the router.
Any ideas? (I'd like it not to turn off the HDD after I turn off the printer)

Are you using an usb hub?

-Try to switch the usb ports
-Use fstab to mount the devices

I am not using an usb hub. Is there an automatic way to mount? as is' pretty inconveninet to manually reboot / mount each time i switch off the printer (the printer is a canon mp550 - it has usb and card read, this may be the cause? as it appears as a new usb storage if there is a card / usb stick inserted)

Unless you provide exact firmware version, nobody can say something useful. Original ASUS fw has this stupid "feature", it fixed much more later.

I am running Oleg's 1.9.2.7-10 on wl500g premium.

As I remember rightly, such hotplug behavior was fixed in our 1.9.2.7-d branch only. Workaround - write custom hotplug script to prevent passing printer disconnect event to rc daemon.

I have no clue on how to do that.
