Sharing HD on homenetwork?

Hello

I recently bought a 1TB USB-HD attached to my router but cannot figure out how to give read/write access to it from Win/Linux boxes that I have.
I SAMBA v3 on my router but can only read from HD. I enable also NFS for my Linux boxes but do not know how to mount NFS.
Please help, I am a beginner with Linux.

format your disk using ext3 partitions.
