Hello everybody,
I am thinking of buying one WL-500g router (exact model depend on money and supported features)
Main role of that router would be acting as printserver for my Canon LBP3010 printer which is now plugged into my PC and it has to be on in order to print from other PCs. I would like it to be like a network printer connected to router

after finding this topic, my hopes were like zero, but who knows, maybe something did change.
That guy has only one post so it does not look like he is here often and chances are he is not but anyway I will PM him.

Has anyone else had success in making that LBP 3010 USB printer work?

Negative :( it will not work. You will have to buy AXIS 1650 Network Print Server or so. However, probably it will be more costly than the printer itself. So, the only solution is to avoid buying Canon LBPs, or stick to windoze only.

that is sad :(

I thought that when it has linux drivers, it will be possible to run it on linux based router

so no other way to get it working apart from that pricey canon print server?

it doesn't have open source linux drivers
