Hello All,
I've tried every thing but what obviously works to get my WL-500gP v2 to connect to the internet. I have a Zoom 6381-A4-200 DSL modem as my mode of access to internet.
My WRT54Gl v1.1 w/Tomato 1.27 works flawlessly and was easy to set up and get going. But not my 500gP. I've beat my head flat trying to figure this out.
I keep ending up at the WAN cable or no ethernet cable error message w/in ASUS firmware. I've tried Oleg/Teddybear/ASUS/DD-WRT to no avail. I've bricked and unbricked, used the pin 9 trick et al. Checked PS voltage. I've tried auto install manual install. Have not tried telnet, ssh or similar. I've tried Linux boxes first then windows xp second, do not have access to mac unless i can bluetooth w/my iPhone.
I must be missing something extremely simple, but have yet to "see the light".
May I humbly ask someone to point me in the right direction, linux Ubuntu would be my preference.
Pierre
