I have some issues with the WL500g & my external hdd.

-1st of all, I cant access it from WAN
-2nd "superuser" cant login, as my routerlogin password doesnt work with the superuser password.

Here my settings:

Enable FTP Server? Yes
Allow Anonymous User to Login? No
Allow Super User to Login? Yes
FTP Port: 21
Maximum Users Allowed to Log in: 5
Login Timeout in Seconds: 120
Stay Timeout in Seconds: 240
Initial Script:

I am using the latest firmware:

Already thnx

P.S. I am using FlashFXP as program. Trying to login from router-webpage with firefox/IE doesnt work either
P.P.S. When I add users manually with name + rights, it does work perfectly over LAN

Wan seems to be working now.. Dont have a clue what went wrong, but it appears to work properly.

So only 1 probo to fix:

Superadmin login..

I dont know if this is important, but when i contact my router at http://my.router/ I have to fill in a username and password (well that aint odd yet)

The thing is now, that I had to put with the original firmware (cold out the box) the username:admin and then the pass

Now when i fill in ' admin' as username i cant login.. But when i dont fill a username @ all, it does work..

Maybe this is why the superadmin account doesnt work?

And if this is the cas, how can i change the general username?

perhaps you did a firmware upgrade and forgot to restore router to defaults first ?

especially the empty username points to my suggestion above..

I had the same problem not being able to access the FTP server from WAN.

Also using original (not custom) firmware.

I finally abandoned the whole FTP thing.

Can you post how you got the FTP working for WAN users?

see this thread please:

note that you should NOT add FTP server to virtual servers or port trigger or something like that

I'm also having problems with my FTP from WAN. Users can actually log in which indicates that it goes through all firewalls and is connected to the WL500G, but when it comes to the LIST command everything halts. I'm using
