Hi all,

I've got WL500gPV2 and a 14mbit synchronous line. Before trying Oleg's fw, I used dd-wrt for couple of weeks. The problem was, i could not use my full upload speed, always reached only about 600 - 700kB/s.

When I connect my PC directly to the fiber from my ISP, speed (i test on FTP) is always 15 mb/s.

But with router connected, i was getting only speeds mentioned above.

So I tried Oleg's fw hoping it could solve the problem. First i need to say, my download speed went up from 14 to 16 mb/s, which I guess is caused by this nice fw, however upload speed is about 250 - 300 kB/s and never goes up, which is even worse than dd-wrt or the native Asus firmware.

I could use some help on this, I've been struggling with this for couple of weeks now, and can't find any solution :(

Thank you,
Jackal

Can you attach a picture of the hardware and software and firmware version etc. involved?

Any firewalls active in between?
passive or active ftp?

What happens if you copy via an ssh connection?

Win XP SP3, no FW, passive ftp.

I can not make any ssh connection at the moment but I think that's not the problem. Every other connection "works" that way. I've switched back to dd-wrt in the meantime and still having the same problem. I tried turning qos on/off and some other services as well but no luck.

Are you using the WAN connection on the asus?

You might want to look into 'auto negotiation' problems.

Yes WAN connection. (Fiber 14/14mbit)

Maybe the router can not handle higher up throughput than 300kb/s, I already wrote to Asus forums just to be sure, but no answer for the time being.

I'll give it a look.

*WAN port, 100 mbit UTP cabel.

Here is the Graph of the upload speed.

You didn't provide your WAN type (PPTP, L2TP, PPPoE, etc.), only media type(fiber).

None of that, I have assigned internal IP from my ISP via DHCP. The IP is then mapped as external by the ISP.

although I'm not sure if my ISP is not to by blamed. In my case upload is limited to 100-150 KiB/s per stream( if I open several connections at the same time I can use full bandwidth) I get private IP by DHCP and that is nated to public. Upload should be around 48Mbps.

Can be, but as I've mentioned above, If i connect my PC's UTP directly without the router, the speed is ok 14/14mbit.

gyterpena: Have you tried it without the router ? You may have the same problem as I do.

it's 2500miles away, will try at the end of the month. Did you try ftp download by several streams?
Also is your ISP by any chance Antik?
