Bekijk de volledige versie : Transmission-daemon keeps dropping out
My transmission keeps dropping out. When it is running i type ps axf in putty to find these processes running:
354 ? S 0:18 /opt/bin/transmission-daemon -a *.*.*.* -g /mnt/trans
355 ? S 0:00 \_ /opt/bin/transmission-daemon -a *.*.*.* -g /mnt/t
356 ? D 0:02 \_ /opt/bin/transmission-daemon -a *.*.*.* -g /m
357 ? D 1:03 \_ /opt/bin/transmission-daemon -a *.*.*.* -g /m
but after a while I get an error in transmission remote saying unable to connect and I check the processes again and they are gone. I have to either reboot or type
/opt/bin/transmission-daemon -a *.*.*.* -g /mnt/transmission-daemon -T -w /mnt/Downloads -l 20
whichs loads transmission for me.
Any ideas or help?
Thanx
Try to break down the problem. e.g:
Does the transmission keep running normal if you don't use transmission-remote?

No, even if I reboot my router which loads transmission daemon through S89trans which is in my init.d folder without turning on my comp and running transmission-remote, transmission daemon process will still end somehow and I would have to reboot my router or type /opt/bin/transmission-daemon -a *.*.*.* -g /mnt/transmission-daemon -T -w /mnt/Downloads -l 20 to get it going again
here is my code for my S89trans file
#!/bin/sh
export PATH=/opt/bin:/opt/sbin:$(PATH)
start() {
echo "starting..."
/opt/bin/transmission-daemon -a *.*.*.* -g /mnt/transmission-daemon -T -w /mnt/Downloads -l 20
}
stop() {
if [ -f /opt/var/run/transmission.pid ] ; then
kill `cat /opt/var/run/transmission.pid`
else
killall -9 transmission-daemon
fi
rm -f /opt/var/run/transmission.pid
umask 077
echo "stopped"
}
case "$1" in

stop
sleep 1

how else can i break it down to solve it? y would transmission remote do it anyways?
maybe you should reinstall transmission from scratch. (also delete config files or make backups of them).
Which version of transmission are you using?

yeah mayb, I cant remember which version i have, how can i find out?
which tutorial would u recommend to follow to reinstall everything including partitioning the drives and installing transmission?
to find out the version you type:
ipkg list_installed
Check the forum for installation instructions.
on macsat.com you will also find instructions, but there are not always up to date.

Try to uninstall/reinstall:
ipkg remove transmission
ipkg update
ipkg install transmission
and then check if you have only one instance of transmission
installed:
ipkg list_installed
restart transmission or reboot the asus

I did wat u told me now im getting a error 409 conflict error.
how does the new transmission load when the router is rebooted? or what is the command line to put in putty?
At what point do you get the 'conflict' error?
Maybe try:
ipkg -force-reinstall transmission
if you type:
ipkg --help
you see all the parameters you can use..
You can start transmission like this:
/opt/etc/init.d/S89trans start

I replaced the S89trans file with the one u gave me but now im getting a 409 error msg saying its forbidden when i try to connect
403: Forbidden

Either disable the IP address whitelist or add your address to it.
If you're editing settings.json, see the 'rpc-whitelist' and 'rpc-whitelist-enabled' entries.
If you're still using ACLs, use a whitelist instead. See the transmission-daemon manpage for details.
wats ur settings.json like?

I have done this still have:
409: Conflict
Your request had an invalid session-id header.
To fix this, follow these steps:
1. When reading a response, get its X-Transmission-Session-Id header and remember it
2. Add the updated header to your outgoing requests
3. When you get this 409 error message, resend your request with the updated header
