Im getting really tired looking at this stupidftpd and its lacking functionality. :(
Is it posible for us to install GLFTPD on this baby at all ?
Tried messing around - but to be honest - I need some professionel help setting this up.
Have anyone tried this ? :confused:

search this forum for vsftpd. This is a small ftp server with much more functionality then stupid-ftp.

glftp doesn't make use of autoconf / automake
Sounds a bit tricky to cross-compile it...
Would be better to find a more "portable" ftpd server like the one Styno gives you, no ?

From what I can find on this forum - I can only get to download the vsftpd from http://www.wingding.demon.nl - but in the product - it is no use following the INSTALL file.
Cant find other installation helping info on the board - concerning this vsftpd.
Another solution i saw on the forum is a unslug thingie... which isnt explained how to install... or atleast i cant find it.
It says that PROftpd can be installed via this method. But it doesnt say how or where to get it, and install it.
If such info exists on the board - please link to it.

Sure, this was a proof of concept link. And it's no longer available for two months already. Just use nslu2 site.

Someone as installed the vsftpd on his box ?
How do you handle logins, passwords, folder, ... ?
I have found this doc (ftp://vsftpd.beasts.org/users/cevans/untar/vsftpd-2.0.3/EXAMPLE/VIRTUAL_USERS/) , talking about virtual user but on my box I don't have pam !
And I don't want manage users in the /etc/passwd because it create a ssh login for each...

I love glftpd and i love my ASUS ;).
So, I'll make it ;)
Take a USB-disc and install Debian.... boot the Debian from the ASUS-Router and install glftpd on the Debian-system :)
My debian is running now and I'll try to install glftpd :)
