Good Day.
Instead of confussing you with what i have tried and failed i will tell you what i am trying to achieve in the hope of great advice please from you kind gents.
My internet is adsl and my provider supplied me a PIKATEL AIRMAX 101 TTNET ADSL Modem which is working fine. I now want to add my ASUS WL500G P so i can share the printer and also utilise the usb ports. I have connected a Ethernet cable to the ETHERNET on the Airmax and put the other end of cable into the WAN on the ASUS WL500G. I have given the ASUS a static IP of 192.168.11 Because the IP of the Airmax is 192.168.1.1 BUT I NOW have no internet on either PC connected to the ASUS via WIFI and I dont (by choice) have a ethernet cable connecting the ASUS directly to any of the PCs.
Q. In summary what should i do to achieve a WORKING Internet ACCESS on my wireless PC and Laptop ( My set up now is INTERNET ADSL (IN) to AIRMAX MODEM , THEN ETHERNET CABLE TO ASUS WG500 and then connecting to PC via ASUS WIFI)
Q. What should i do on the Modem / Reuter to enable access to the INTERNET and access to the Printer.

Clearly 192.168.11 is a mistake, since there is one number missing.
If you have 192.168.11.1 as the LAN IP address, then that's fine for connecting it via the WAN port. In you've connected it via one of the LAN ports, then 192.168.1.11 would be fine, as long as you configure the Asus as follows:
- Operation mode: Router
- Enable DHCP server: NO
- Enable Firewall: NO
- Enable *** routes: NO
(assuming your Airmax does all those tasks)
If needed, copy over the DNS servers from your modem too.
Sorry for confusion, i am a non Technic trying to achieve something which is out of my depth. I simply want connect the asus to the airmax without wires - is this possible. I want then to connect from pc to the asus and i want the asus to to talk to the airmax modem and all connect to the internet. I want to take advantage of the usb ports on the asus so i can use it as a print server.
BUT I simply dont know what to do! :)

Without wires ... that means you're looking to setup a wireless bridge. It's certainly possible, but it cuts the wireless throughput in half. In other words: whatever transfer speed you can achieve wirelessly, you'll only get half of that via the wireless bridge.
So before we proceed to try and help you, first decide if this is still what you want, or if you prefer to connect it via network cable.
Also, please clarify what is the complete current LAN IP address of the Asus.

Ok i dont want to loose speed. So my new set up which does not work is
Internet feed to ADSL Modem then I have Ethernet connection going from ADSL MODEM to the WL500G and i want the WL500G to connect too 2 PC via wifi. I also want to fit the WL500G with a USB Printer and an external hard drive.
As it stands at the moment. Both the reuter and adsl modem have a 192.168.1.1 and both have AUTO IP enabled which I believe is wrong and will cause conflict.
Both PC are set to receive IP address automatically.
I believe i need to switch off wifi on adsl as its connected to the reuter via a ethernet cable.

For starters, you cannot set both to 192.168.1.1, that will crash your network.
Just try it the classic way: set your Asus to a different LAN IP, for example 10.1.1.1, then (Apply+Finish+Reboot) connect it via the Asus' WAN port via network cable. See if that works.
Just to be sure: a wireless bridge won't cut the net internet connection speed in half, it will perform at half speed between the Asus and the Airmax, so if you connect through the bridge, the yes it will be half as fast. For example, if the Asus is your accesspoint, it will transfer through the wireless bridge at half speed.
We know i am try to connect to adsl modem. So in the asus setup what should my reuter be set too in the INTERNET CONNECTION TYPE options?
Where do i change, or find the location in the setup so i can change from 192.168.1.1. too 10.0.0.1

On Asus, go to IP Config > WAN & LAN, then set the following:
WAN Connection Type: Automatic IP
LAN IP Address: 10.1.1.1
Subnet Mask: 255.0.0.0
This should be enough to get a basic working connection.
I entered all the settings as you suggested and t didnt work. I also then manually entered the ip address onto the PC connection and still no luck.
Can you confirm what the gateway settings should be on the PC ? on the asus reuter ?
My adsl is ppoe so i have to enter a suser name and password to get internet will that make a difference to the INTERNET CONNECTION SETTINGS on the ASUS?
Please confirm as well what the DNS settings should be on the PC AND REUTER?
