Any recommendation for replacement? Do I need stabilized AC/DC 5V-, 2.5A?
Could I also use a 6V AC/DC? Thanks!

no.

In principle you may try to repair it yourself. These PSU have 2 typical symptoms ( http://wl500g.info/showpost.php?p=141637&postcount=427 [ in Russian ] [ see at least pictures ] ) :
1) PSU show idle output, but when router is connected, the voltage drops down. Then the capacitors near output should be replaced. Possibly it visually show leakage of electrolyte or swelling.
2) PSU show no any output at all. Then not very big capacitor in the middle should be replaced by 10uF/50V one.

Output shows 5.2V (stable) without Router connected.
