In the new version the firmware supports up to 32 bandwith rules.

Yes.
It's our modification of Oleg's firmware to support USB GTRAN modem for CDMA EV-DO which runs on 450MHz. This wireless technology is only in Czech republic.

Wow, it looks like it may help my networking problem, does the VPN allow me access to a usb disk in the router?

Also, is the interface in English?

engy
22-03-2005, 14:51
No. It's only in czech because CDMA is only in czech. USB disk is accessible via FTP.

No. It's only in czech...
..that is a political reason..not technical?

Yes. When CDMA and our firmware modification will by widely used, it will by also in english.

Hi to you all,
Just here to C if we could work out a CDMA2000 Firmware distro.

There is a company here at Portugal implementing a CDMA2000 network (Zapp.pt (http://www.zapp.pt)) and the release of such a Firmware would be very apreciated by all of us.

If you have intrest don't hesitate in contacting me by MAIL (ruben.sacramento@zapp.com.pt)

Hi.
Here is page in English about CDMA in Czech republic
http://www.eurotel.cz/jnp/en/services/service/en-services-dataContainer-S4_InternetAemail-EurotelDataExpres-uvod.html
And with coverage
http://www.eurotel.cz/jnp/en/services/service/en-services-dataContainer-S4_InternetAemail-EurotelDataExpres-pokryti.html
23 CZK = 1 USD
It's 3G CDMA EV-DO (Data optimized) data only network with max 2Mbps download and 160kbps upload. Ping is 200 ms, in rev. A will be 20ms.

I'm 15km far from BTS and at night it works at 1Mbps and over and at day time at 300kpbs. It's an only one solution in small villages without ADSL.

ok thus just another one like UMTS / GPRS / EDGE bla bla bla

but have to say ~30 euro's is not that much for a flat fee (?) for stuff you can almost use everywhere you want.

is the firmware interface in english?
if not, any english version?

will Oleg's fw ever support gprs/cdma modem?

i think it'll be great to put gprs/cdma modem support into fw.

my plan is to plug my gprs/cdma modem into wl500g/x and put it on my car with a modified power supply.
so i'd got a truely mobile hotspot. anywhere you see my car you can use the hotspot...

Unfortunaelly the .cz firmware for wl-500gx contains a ppp not compiled with support for active-filter.

I guess even using iptable I still not able to stop internet since idle time is never reached due to misc incoming packages.

Could it be possible to include ppp filtering in a new firmware or provide a ppp package with support for acrive-filter (I'm interested in outbound keyword).

Please help me or provide me an alternative to be able to ignore incoming packets when dial on demand is used with pppd.

Thanks a lot

So has a CDMA package been developed for Oleg's software?

Can't really try Oleg's as I'm CDMA dependant for the internet.

Hi Everyone,

I was visiting http://koppel.cz/cdmawifi/download/164/WL500g-1.9.2.7-7f-USB-1.64.trx,
and found out that they have a new soft for WL500g. This soft allows to plug 2 CDMA modem and have internet VIA WIFI. There are 2 models that are supported by this software. AnydataADU-E100H and one more model. I use C-Montech CNU-550. Can anybody help to modify the 1.9.2.7-7f-USB-1.64.trx in a such way that my modem will work.
WL500GX recognizes the modem very well. Here is the log

Yes it's me. There is no driver for Cmotech CDMA modem in firmware, so modifying script will not solve your problem. I'm very short of time now, so I cann't google for driver for this modem. When I will have a driver, I can modify CDMA script. Try insmod acm module and list usb devices (/proc/bus/usb/devices)

It's already possible with koppel firmware but the modem must be equiped with pl2303 or ftdi convertor or you need a driver.

Hi Engy,

Please read below. I think I found what you need to modify the firmware.

Engy,

Here is the letter from the guy who changed the firmware for the similar CDMA mode.
Please read below. I trunslated it in English.

If you can change the Flash-file system for the Asus, you should put the following file from the attached archive to the folder
/usr/local/custom/

dial
dialup
dialup.chat
update

The file post-boot should be placed /usr/local/sbin/post-boot
More details about this issue at
http://oleg.wl500g.info,
http://www.wl500g.info/showthread.php?t=5909&highlight=mkswa
p).

In the above discribed files you should change the "vendor=0x16D8
product=0x5533" to the ID of your modem, you can find out about the ID at the Widows Device manager.
In UI Adam Firmware you should choose 'dialup', this is the one where you can find login/password/dial number.

Engy here is my Modem ID.
USB\Vid_16d8&Pid_5543&Rev_0000
USB\Vid_16d8&Pid_5543
Engy I am attaching the file on the bottom in russian. Just for your reference. This is the original.

Если Вы умеете менять flash-файловую систему на раутере, то
поместите следующие файлы из приаттаченного архива в папку
/usr/local/custom/

dial
dialup
dialup.chat
update

А файл post-boot поместить /usr/local/sbin/post-boot
(подробнее об этом http://oleg.wl500g.info,
http://www.wl500g.info/showthread.php?t=5909&highlight=mkswa
p).

В вашеперечисленных файлах поменяйте "vendor=0x16D8
product=0x5533" на ID Вашего модема, узнать ID можно в
Windows Device Manager.

В UI прошивки Адама нужно выбрать опцию 'dialup', это та,
где есть только login/password/dial number.

This is not a good usage of user dialup files. In attachement is a sample usage of user dialup files with koppel firmware. But this is not a driver for gprs device but only you tell to system to use usbserial module for your usb device with specified vid/pid.

Are you saying that this is not a good idea to use user dialup files this way?
And what every you attaching is the same thing from KOPPEL firmware.
Engy I will keep looking for Linux driver for my Modem, but I have no luck so far.
Would you still recommend to use it if I won't be able to find the driver?
How can I integrate it in WL500gx-1.9.2.7-7f-USB-1.64.trx?

Engy,

Here what I found on one russian forum. Will it work as a driver?
They used it for Linux system, for my particular modem. Works fine.

1. modprobe cdc_acm
2. mknod /dev/usb/ttyACM0 c 166 0
3. Make a script /etc/ppp/peers/cdma-evdo:
921600
connect '/usr/sbin/chat -s -v "" "AT&F0E0V1S0=0" OK ATD#777 CONNECT'
debug
updetach
crtscts
noipdefault
nodetach
novj
lcp-echo-failure 0
nobsdcomp
novjccomp
nopcomp
noaccomp
noauth
user mobile
modem
usepeerdns
defaultroute
connect-delay 5000

4. В /etc/ppp/pap-secrets добавить
mobile * internet

5. pppd /dev/usb/ttyACM0 call cdma-evdo

6. Do not forget to copy after the first session resolv.conf из /etc/ppp в /etc

In USB Connection select "User defined", upload my file and after reboot fill in connection paramaters. Some devices need special USB initializing and finalizing but usbserial driver is not able to do it, so legacy driver is a better solution.
