So I am looking into a router that will run BitTorrent, saving the data to an external hdd or possibly a NAS. I am looking for something that will allow me to download overnight without having to leave my PC powered on.
What is the performance like running rTorrent or Transmission on this router? Which is the best firmware to do so? What about the hardware limitations of the router, ie how many torrents can I run at once and how is the IO performance. I also curious what I would get better performance with, a couple external USB drives or investing in a cheap NAS.
Any advice or experience would be appreciated.
