Hi all,
I've been a proud owner of a WL-500gP for a couple years now. I've been using OpenWRT lately and everything has been running smoothly.
However, I recently moved to a new house and decided it's time to build my home network a bit differently (partly due to logistics).
Basically, here's what I'd like to have:
http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/9739/networkmap.jpg
The "Thompson" is a Speedtouch ST546 v6 ADSL router/modem.
I'd like to be able to share my printer/scanner (HP Photosmart C4280) and my USB HDD (WD Elements 500Gb) with the entire network, including the Playstation (the HDD, not the printer ;)). Is this possible? If so, which firmware should I look to?
So far, I'm not even able to have a simple network work 100% ( even without the PS2 and the USB extras). If I let the WL-500gP take care of the DHCP, I have Internet access, but can't access the Thomson modem configuration page (which forces me to connect a computer directly to the Thomson everytime I need to open a port or change a setting).
If I disable DHCP on the Asus, I can't have Internet access. :\ I have DHCP turned on at the Thomson configs, set his IP to 192.168.1.1, changed Asus to 192.168.1.2 and still can't do it.
Looks like it will be a long way until I can fulfill my network project. I'd like to ask if you could give me a hand or some guidance on this. All help is appreciated :)
Cheers,
Gnitrops
