Bekijk de volledige versie : WL-500G DELUXE slow transfer FTP from USB HDD?
Hi,
when i copy some data from my 250GB USB 2.0 HDD drive, connected to my wl-500g deluxe wlan router, the transfer rates are always below 800 KBytes/s!
Any ideas to improve the transfer rates?
WLAN or LAN connection doesn't matter. The rates are nearly the same.
My USB HDD uses FAT32. And my notebook Windows XP SP2.
...
You should get about 1.3MB/s. Which firmware version you are using?
I use 1.9.2.7-3c (2005-01-31).
The test was done with Total Commander copying a 600MB video file.
...
Hmm, after resetting the router, i get up to 1100 kbytes/s over FTP with WPA-PSK.
But with SMB only about poor 900 kbytes/s
Is there a way to improve this?
...
The only way is to use PC as fileserver. :)

i got the same problem...transferring from hd from the internet is good and without trouble...transferring from the hd from LAN is another thing...i have to wait 40 minutes for at transfer of 700 mb....could it be that the router only has a USB 1.1 port installed????

hmm the WL-500G DELUXE has USB 2.0, or?
so the speed should be about 12MB/s.
Why only 1.3MB/s transfers from/to the USB HDD of the FTP?

why should it be 12MB/s ?
according to your theory it should even have 60MB/s
it has USB2.0 interface, if the speed can't be handled it will just not get the maximum possible. DOT.
oops ye 60MB
sorry for asking,
but what cant handle the speed and why (Firmware or hardware limitations)?
Thx

Hi
I always get around 1800-1900 KB/sec while copying files to/from a USB2.0 HDD connected to the WL-500g deluxe.
I am using vsftpd as ftp server and gftp on a linux box as client.
I am using LAN connection, not WLAN for theese figures.
