Could someone give me a hint to create a script for scheduling my ISP's connection (pppoe protocol)?

In fact, my isp disconnects me every 36h... witch is "problematic" because with such period, it may occure when I'm using applications like Skype.

So, I want to disconnect (and reconnect immediately) every 24h at 5 am.

I've found on this forum the "killall -1 pppd" command. I've tried it... It does perfectly the job but I don't know how to schedule it...

Thanks.

Also... I've read that cron could do the scheduled job.

But is it possible to use the crond (without running full busybox) on stock firmware?

As of 1.9.2.7-1 cron is by default part of the firmware AFAIK.

Well... I'm running fw 1.9.3.5 beta and don't want to go back because this one resolves all my wireless issues between fw 1.9.2.7 and the latest Intel 2200BG wi-fi card driver!

So, do you thing it's possible to run crond on this asus stock firmware?

Or is'nt it possible to make a loop that check the time and that run the "killall -1 pppd" command when needed?

Thanks.

You could also add a never ending loop at the end of the post-boot script and do the stopping and starting from there...
