wl-500w HDD problem

I connect an 40G HDD (ext3) to the router.
The HDD is working but i cant see that it is connected from the ASUS web interface, and i cant reach it.
I try FAT32, NTFS and its the same.
I connect it to my laptop and its good.
I connect a 1G diskonkey and its working fine.
I use ASUS 2.0.0.6

what is going on ??? some one can please help me .....

maybe the hdd doesn't have enough power to start?
does it has a seperate psu?
it is also possible that it doesnt always work, you can see if a usb device is attatched in the log, maybe you can post that up?:)
