Hey guys.

I just got a Macbook and are connected wirelessly to my Asus router but I cannot browse the shared folder from it. It works fine from my Windows machine or my Xbox 1 but not the macbook. Am I missing something to get this working?

Thanks!

Did you mount it first?
here is a quick guide telling you how to do it:
http://lifehacker.com/software/mac-os-x/how-to-mount-a-windows-shared-folder-on-your-mac-247148.php

Also, your PC, MAC and Asus should be on the same workgroup. For the mac,
you can check/change your Workgroup in Directory Access (/Applications/Utilities/) under Services > SMB/CIFS

I got mine to work (samba from ipkg), and I think the important option in smb.conf was "encrypt passwords = yes". For some reason this is required, even though I don't use passwords in my setup. If this does not help, I can post my whole smb.conf once I get back to my box.

Nice work Kenny:)

I use Leopard 10.5.6 and with nsmb.conf work my samba.

In terminal use first "sudo -s" but can't save your file!!!
