when i download in azureus/emule, my internet connection gets off (wan dies-like in other threads). i really cant download anymore cause my 2 brothers are playing online games and i cant disconnect. im using that beta firmware which is here in this forum. can anyone tell me how can i fix this ? its some max connections problem or whatever..

ps: my ie doesnt work when i download sometimes, my brothers ie works fine at that time =/

2nd question :o
we want to buy wireless cards. if we use that linksys with speedbooster, what will be the speed? 52mbps or 125mbps?

i have ADSL 4069/512k if that helps

thanks :)

I'll address what I think is part of your question...

Don't use beta firmware. Use custom firmware. I recommend 1.8.1.7-3. It has greatly annoying problems of its own, but they're much less than those of 1.9.2.7-based firmware or just plain ASUS firmware. The custom firmware fixes many problems, but there are some that ASUS has seemed to fix in the latest beta which we're still waiting to carry over...

Well if you have problems and at the same time your brother can still play a game online; you DON'T have the WAN die problem! In that case there is no data exchanged with the ISP anymore which is not the case here.

You probably suffer from the fact that the router can handle only 1024 concurrent connections by default. You can change this setting in the webinterface to 4096 or whatever.

Your 2nd question:
There's a big chance that the Linksys and the Asus use different chipsets and are therefore technically unable to use the speedbooster technology. Normal WiFi-g communication will work though. While this might concern you, I assure you the speedbooster technologies (105, 125, etc.) speeds are pure marketing specs. You WON'T reach those speeds so you don't need them.

125mbps mode only works when all encryptions and stuff are turned off and the WL500gx is instructed to use Afterburner mode
