Can anyone help me?

I tried two webcam with Wl-500g. One is Trust 150 Spacec@m.
Although this model is listed in the manual as compatible i canīt get it to work.
When i try preview in configuration it opens the preview webpage and get a error message "Asus Netcam -can't connect with server"!!

Is this related to the connection port? Is the port number related to the camera model? I used the default value 7777

I get the same with a similar Genius webcam!!
Anyone tried Creative Webcam NX or NX PRO??

One main reason i upgraded from WL-500 to WL-500g was this feature and i'm very frustrated.

The alternative link gives me "Image not ready" ARggh!

it is possible that your trust cam is not the same they've tested(?) @ asus, trust OEMs things.. so it's possible they have different webcams under the same name.. that could be 1 reason why it's not working

try selecting as driver PWC8.8 or OV5.11 2.10

also be sure you've enabled the right rights for activeX elements in your browser. (you can find it in the manual)

at least if nothing of this works, try restoring the defaults and start over again configuring your wl500g. some wl500g's seem to have weird things in their nvram out of the box.

hope this will help you!

No luck!!

Still i wonder why i get the message "can't connect with server"

Is this the usual error with incompatible hardware?

I post again the same question: for what purpose is the connection port?

Is it possible that the port is closed for some reason?
I tried to disabled all firewall software and still no luck!

I need all kind of information about webcams and WL-500g

how are you trying to view the webcam?
from inside your network or outside?
and if inside via LAN of WLAN

The Creative NX Pro will certainly not work. There is no Linux driver for this thing :( (I own 1 as well).

The device actually behaves rather strange under Windows (try unplugging for example), which prevents even normal logging of the USB traffic. Hence driver development is rather complicated for this device.
