hiho,

next question.
i just want to experiment something with the conf files of the smbd and he stupid-ftpd.

what i did is the following:
opened ssh with putty.
logged in.

opened /tmp/stupid-ftpd.conf with vi.
changed the homedir of one user.
saved the file and checked if saving was successful with more stupid-ftpd.conf.

i added /tmp/stupid-ftpd.conf to the file .files in dir /tmp/local/

allright till now.

then (as i understood the manual on the http://wl500g.dyndns.org/ page) i fired flashfs save, flashfs commit and last flashfs enable.

flashfs save works and the file is created.
flashfs commited returns "Commited".
flashfs enable takes few secs and returns nothing.
flashfs status returns boot_local 1.9.2.7-3c.
flashfs list returns

tmp/stupid-ftpd.conf
tmp/ppp/options.wan0
tmp/local
tmp/local/etc
tmp/local/etc/dropbear
tmp/local/etc/dropbear/dropbear_rsa_host_key
tmp/local/etc/dropbear/dropbear_dss_host_key
tmp/local/sbin
tmp/local/sbin/post-boot
tmp/local/.files
tmp/local/root

when now typing reboot on the shell the system goes down, comes up again and changes to my files are gone - blown away by the wind :D

can someone give me the complete sequence for saving changes made to a file in the flash so that these changes will be kept after reboot?

stupid-ftpd is dynamically generated by firmware, so would be overwrited. To change this behaviour disable ftp server via web iface and configure/start it manually.

ok...

and what about the file tmp/ppp/options.wan0 ??
i want to change the values for lcp_echo_interval and lcp_echo_failure to test if this is the prob for the lags on some sites.
