Bekijk de volledige versie : Second storage device added to WL-500gp
Hi,
My current configuration is 1.9.2.7-8, and an external 8GB USB stick.
I'm trying to add a second storage device - a hard disk (connected using a USB enclosure).
However, it seems the router doesn't recognize the device.
I'm not very knowledgeable regarding Linux, but it seems the new device doesn't automount.
So.. help. Please.
Most likely the harddisk draws to much power from the asus.
If possible connect a powersupply to the disk or connect it to a powered usb hub.
I can't check right now, but AFAIR it showed only the already connected USB stick. The stick is inserted in the lower slot.

What partitions and filesystem do you have on harddrive?
I'm sorry for my delayed answer.
It seems there was something related to the USB connectors (the one on the router, or the USB cable).
I almost gave up using the USB harddrive but, as a last resort, I tried to prove or disprove avberk theory: In inserted a second USB stick, and the router detected it. I removed the stick, I inserted the USB harddrive, and the router detected it too.
I wasn't sure if there was a connector (or power) issue, or if, by attaching the USB stick, the router activated the second USB connector. I am not savvy enough to debug or try exotic some router configuration, and I was pleased just to have the USB-HDD working.
After a few days, the USB-HDD stopped working. I made it work by jiggling the USB cable. Go figure...
