How do I force the WL-500g to assign an IP based on the entered MAC address?
I have entered a list in the DHCP Server screen. With DHCP set to ON & Manual Assign ticked , it does not assign based on MAC. With DHCP set to off & Manual ticked, it won't assign any IP!!
What am I doing wrong ??

thats strange.
You should switch the dhcp server on (IP config menu, option DHCP Server). On the top there is a radio button Enable /disable DHCP.
Then somewhere at the bottom there is also a radio button enable manual assignment. Set that one to enable, and fill in a mac address of one of your pcs and fill in the ip address you want to have assigned to that one.
Be sure the address you select lies in the range defined as dhcp range.
that should work. If not, tell us what version firmware you use.
I agree. It is strange. Both are ticked. DHCP & Manual.
It appears to be choosing IP's from the MAC list - but NEVER the one I want !! Does not do a match MAC to IP.
I CAN force it to select IP's that I assign manually at the client. But thats not what I want. I would like to leave the clients set to choose via DHCP. But haver the router hand out IP's from the MAC address pool - AND BASED ON THE MAC ADDRESS!
I dunno. Aggravating.
Firmware version standard ASUS 1.9.2.7
Running Windows XP - Pro
Any other suggestions ....

If i disabled the special applications [Starcraft(Battle.Net) on NAT Setting - Virtual DMZ], then the DHCP - Assign IP Address Manually feature didn't work... Try enable this setting...
