rtorrent memory usage

Hi, when i use any torrent client like rtorrent or transmission it crush in max one day.. when i chech free by putty it says that i have onli couple of kB of memory to use and almost all swap why?? (about 2mb from swap is using)
Please help

give us some output of the "free" command then:)
also, you could give us the contents of the fstab file

rtorrent uses around 10mb-11mb ram
transmission is just unstable.

go into
/opt/etc/init.d

and see what u have on start up.

all files starting with S will run.
rename them to not have S and they wont run.
