I have 2 routers, a Wl-500gp and a Linksys WRT-54G3G.
The linksys is connected to the internet and with DynDNS service doing ok.
I want to setup a ftp server in the asus so i opened a port (21) in the linksys to the router asus. It doesn't work.
If i connect to the ftp in the asus in the local network, it works ok, if i try from the outside, nothing happens.
The linksys is working ok because if i setup a ftp server in my pc and add that route to the 21 port it works fine. It's only when i try to connect to the port 21 of the asus it does not work.
Any help?
Do i have to config anything in the asus to accept the connection from the linksys?
Linksys - 192.168.1.1
Asus - 192.168.1.2

Thanks.

Normally, you don't have to.

A few thing to check: Are you able to login the ftp-server on the asus with your PC in your local network?

Well, if you're able to login on the ftp server in your own lan, AND your NAT rule works when using the ftp from the pc from the internet, I suppose your ftp-config has some range of ip's (internally) from which it accepts connections, and your linksys is beyond/outside of this range

Which ftp server do you use? and could you post the config? Thanks

I got the ftp to work (partialy).
I opened a port in the linksys and add port triggering to the ip of the asus. It worked, but i have another problem.
When o log in to the ftp it can't give the list of folders beause it responds using the internal ip (192.168.1.2) instead of the external one.
How can i silve this?
